It is the name of a place that indicates the origin of a product from a particular region and confirms its special properties, reputation or characteristics that depend on that place. It can be, for example, a famous wine or local cheese that is produced only in a certain region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Such designations help you choose an authentic product and protect yourself from being misled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">State control over compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the labelling and use of geographical indications, as well as consideration of citizens' appeals in case of violations by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection within its powers <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In Ukraine, there is a list of registered <\/span><span class=\"s2\">geographical indications<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> (GZ) and <\/span><span class=\"s3\">the name of the place of origin of the goods<\/span><span class=\"s1\">(NGI), which include well-known products, confirm their unique quality associated with a particular region of origin.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s4\">Examples of registered Ukrainian SPs and NMPs:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s4\">Food and cheeses:<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Lamb Frumushika<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Hutsul sheep cheese<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Hutsul cow's cheese<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Transcarpathian honey<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Frumushika steppe honey<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Melitopol sweet cherry<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Kherson watermelon (NMPT)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s4\">Crafts and art:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Krolevets towels<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Petrykivka painting (NMPT)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s4\">Beverages (Wines and Mineral Waters):<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Transcarpathia \/ Transcarpathian wine (GZ \/ NMPT)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Danube Bessarabia (GZ)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Yalpug (NMPT)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s5\">Tavria<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> (NMPT\/GZ)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s5\">Wines of Crimea<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> (partially registered)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s5\">Shabbat<\/span><span class=\"s1\">, Asha-abag, Solnechnaya Dolina (wine)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Myrhorodska, Skhidnytska, Polyana Kvasova, Truskavetska, Zbruchanska (Mineralni Vody)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Frumushika<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Ukrainian geographical indications<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>officially recognised and protected in the EU.
