An important component of food safety is the proper labelling of materials and objects intended for contact with food. The Law of Ukraine "On Materials and Objects Intended for Contact with Food", which has now entered into force, is now in force, clear requirements for such information have been established.
☝️ These materials and items must be accompanied by the following information:
📌 the designation "for contact with food" or the corresponding graphic sign;
📌 special instructions for safe use (if necessary);
📌 name and address of the manufacturer or market operator;
📌 marking to ensure traceability;
📌 for active materials - information on the permitted use and substances that may be released.
👀 The labelling must be clear, legible, in the state language and applied in a way that makes it impossible to remove. In retail trade, the information may be placed on the packaging, label or next to the product in the consumer's field of vision.
📍 Additionally, there are requirements for warning consumers about inedible parts of materials, such as the mandatory "Do not eat!" label.
✅ Such rules ensure transparency for consumers, control over safety and proper use of materials and objects in contact with food.
